A BIG FAT 'NO'

Pelosi: I have news for you:
I oppose impeachment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, told the Washington Post that she opposes having the House push for the impeachment of President Trump, though she noted that her political decisions would be guided by "public sentiment."

It appears that the Democrats are planning a two-year siege of investigative hearings aimed at dragging the President through the mud, though some partisans are still hopeful they can gin up enough muck to obtain the "public sentiment" necessary for impeachment.

"I’m not for impeachment," Pelosi said, adding, "This is news. I’m going to give you some news right now because I haven’t said this to any press person before. But since you asked, and I’ve been thinking about this: Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it."

But, at another point in the interview, Pelosi quoted Abraham Lincoln: “Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment, nothing can fail. Without it, nothing can succeed.”

When pressed, she said she didn't think Trump was fit to be President ethically, intellectually or politically. But after knocking Trump's policies, Pelosi backtracked, saying that "this is coming across too negatively" and that "I don't usually talk about him this much."
